100 Days Project

Robyn: Things that bring me happiness

I have never though of myself as a creative person but I have been inspired by my sister who is doing this for the 2nd year, so thank you sis.

My project is about taking a photo everyday of something that makes me smile and brings me happiness. I won't plan in advance what it will be, I will simply photograph whatever it is I notice on the day that makes me feel good. I want to do this to get into the habit of appreciating all the good things in life on a daily basis.

This project is also about learning how to use my camera and all the settings. I don't know much about photography but I really love it ever since I was given a camera last year. I work well with deadlines rather than left to my own devices, so it will be a good way to get the motivation to push myself to learn about photography and use something other than the programmed setting. I want to try taking different types of photos and to learn about what makes a photo look good.

Day 3:

Just another day

Today was one of those days...a day filled with lots of sighs and thoughts of "I can't wait for this day to be over".

So it was more of a struggle today to find something that inspired me. It was at shower time when my partner was showering the baby that I thought "thank goodness, it's shower time" which means that soon the baby will be sleeping peacefully which means that soon I can put my feet up. That thought felt inspiring. So off I went with camera in hand to the shower.

But thankfully I don't have to load up any nudey photos! As it was after the little one was asleep in bed and we were sitting at the kitchen table having a laugh taking photos of each other pulling faces. It's moments like those I love. And I love being able to be me with the man I love. So that is what has inspired today.

So this photo is about showing that although some days just make you want to put your head in your hands, there's always room for a smile. Also, I have found I really enjoy manipulating all the settings on a photo to make them look really different, and I wanted to show that too.

So the day ended up a happy one thanks to this project inspiring me to take a photo every day, which in turn created a happy end to a not so great day. Thank you!
