100 Days Project

Travis: Scattered words

After last years more structured effort (which ended up being very time consuming) my goal is simply to set aside some time to write everyday. Fragments of poetry, song, short stories, novels every day for 100 days.

Discount LEDs brighten up her eyes;
Bluetooth implant so she can listen to my lies;
Brand new heart shaped box made of wires and chrome;
Set within a chest made out of chrome-rimmed domes.

She said: “stop living in the past”;
But I’m suffering from future shock;
I don’t know how long I can last;
When her heartbeat sounds like the ticking of a clock.
Will she still be the same girl;
5 years from our start;
When all that’s left of her body’s;
Been shipped in through online cart.

Each month goes by like a conveyer belt;
Some new piece of technology, my life begins to melt;
She’s not the same girl, that I used to know;
She’s waiting on the latest fibre optics on the way from Tokyo.

She said: “stop living in the past”;
But I’m suffering future shock;
I don’t know how long I can last;
When her heartbeat sounds like the ticking of a clock
Will she still be the same girl;
5 years from our start;
When all that’s left of her body’s;
Been shipped in through online cart.

When she looks in the mirror at night;
I wonder if she sees herself or a robotic sight;
She tells me she still loves me with all her heart;
But will that stop when she needs a jump-start.

She said: “stop living in the past”;
But I’m suffering future shock;
I don’t know how long I can last;
When her heartbeat sounds like the ticking of a clock
Will she still be the same girl;
5 years from our start;
When all that’s left of her body’s;
Been shipped in through online cart.
