100 Days Project

Jacqueline: Shadow drawings

To make a drawing each day on paper of the same size (210mm x 135 mm). The drawings will capture the abstract and incidental, shadows and the edges of things that catch my eye. At the end of the project these drawings will be arranged together as a single work with multiple, interchangeable parts ... And likely form the basis of a series of large format prints. My project is gradually morphing into drawings that develop the idea of my first drawing ...

Day 5:

I found wabi-sabi on someone elses project and like the concept. I think it applies to my drawing project too ... Wabi-sabi acknowledges three simple realities: nothing lasts, nothing is finished, and nothing is perfect.

"If an object or expression can bring about, within us, a sense of serene melancholy and a spiritual longing, then that object could be said to be wabi-sabi."
