Birdsfoot Trefoil
Lotus pedunculatus
A leafy clump from the front verge which contains masses of this tiny-leafed weed, mixed in with annual poa and narrow-leaved plantain.
A brief description of birdsfoot trefoil from NZ Plant Conservaton Network: Scrambling herb, either forming dense yellow flowered patches or scrambling through other vegetation, leaves with 5 lobes, small ( c. 1 cm) yellow, pea-like flowers in groups of 12 or more at the branch tips.
