100 Days Project

Jacinda: Inkweed

100 black ink drawings of common New Zealand garden weeds (plants found growing where they are not wanted). The drawings, made on A4 paper, will loosely depict the plants' essential characteristics. Where possible I will identify them using the Massey University Weed Database and other online sources. On completion I will output all the drawings as one large poster on photorag paper.

Day 71:

Milkweed/Petty spurge

Euphorbia peplus

Three plants from the side of the driveway where milkweed grows in abundance.

NZ Gardener website: This light green, hairless annual with milky latex sap is a very common weed. The milky latex it exudes when the stems are cut or broken can be used as a herbal treatment for warts, corns and calluses. You can also apparently use the sticky sap to get rid of sunspots, but if you have sensitive skin then be careful to avoid the surrounding skin.
