Phoenix blows up a balloon through chemistry
Phoenix is 5 and today she taught me how to blow up a balloon using a chemical reaction instead of her mouth.
First she mixed baking soda and vinegar in a bottle and quickly placed a balloon over the bottle top. She then swirled the mixture to make the reaction happen faster and heard it making a fizz sound. When vinegar and baking soda mix, they create the gas carbon dioxide and water, the water sinks to the bottom of the bottle and the gas rises into the balloon blowing it up!
